The ENCON FOUNDATION is committed to improving social and economic development of people in rural areas through sustainable management of environmental resources. It intends to do this through collaboration with organisations, individuals and associations desirous of promoting effective management of these resources through community based strategies.
The Foundation was formed to improve environmental health and income levels of the rural people. It was formed in response to the need for improvement in sanitation of the community and also inculcate the habit of planting fruit tree crops on school compounds to improve nutrition of school children. The Foundation was also to encourage the planting of fuel wood in woodlots in order to stop indiscriminate felling of trees in forests.
