The foundation participates in some activities of the Forestry Commission, Cape Coast. It also would also provide technical support and planting materials as part of its outreach program.
Anomabo Queenmothers Association
One of the organisations that the Encon Foundation is collaborating with is the Anomabo Queenmothers Association which was inaugurated on December 28, 2021, at Anomabo. The support would include capacity building on environmental, cultural and food security issues.
CELEBRATION OF 2022 ANOMABO OKYIR FESTIVAL
As part of the celebration of the 2022 Okyir Festival of the Chiefs and People of the Anomabo Traditional Area, the Queenmothers organised a programme dubbed Obonoma Gyaadze, Women’s Day, Sankofa, on October 5, 2022, at the Nkansa Park, Anomabo.
The Objective was to introduce the youth to traditional songs, games and preparation of traditional meals.
The activities that were carried out included:
- A special musical performance by Nana Apabah VI, Mpuntuhemaa of Pomadze.
- Setting up a mobile library for the kids to read current educational materials.
- Exhibition of traditional dances.
- Performance of traditional games
- Oral cooking competition for students
Present were the MP for Mfantseman Constituency, Hon Ophelia Mensah Hayford, Nana Mbroba Dabo I, Ohemaa of Anomabo Traditional Area, Nana Abena Gyamfua II, Ohemaa of Assin Atandansu Traditional Area, Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa I, Ohemaa of Gomoa Akyeampim Traditional Area, Nana Esaaba Serwaah Foriwaa I, Ohemaa of Assin Owirenkyi Traditional Area, Assin Kushea, and a large number of citizens.
