2021 ANNUAL REPORT

Introduction
The Foundation was formed in response to the need for improvement in sanitation in the communities and to inculcate the habit of planting trees and ornamental plants.

Vision
The vision of the Foundation is to have a people, particularly, the youth, with a positive attitude towards the protection of the environment.

Mission
The Foundation expects to create communities in which environmental sustainability would influence all discussions and decisions on development.

Key Objectives

  1. Education of the Youth on the need to protect the environment
  2. Improving food security, land use, health, tourism, biodiversity utilization and development
  3. Improving Environmental Tourism

Activities in 2021:

  • Presented drinks and biscuits to the Sunday School, Wesley Cathedral, Cape Coast
  • Presented a lecture on climate change to Anomabo Queenmothers Association
  • Presented tree seedlings to some educational institutions such as. Mfantsipim School, Mfantseman Girls,  Anomabo Queenmothers Association and the Queenmother of  Assin Attandanso Traditional Area.
  • Presented tree seedlings to some educational institutions such as. Mfantsipim School, Mfantseman Girls,  Anomabo Queenmothers Association and the Queenmother of  Assin Attandanso Traditional Area.

Presentation to Sunday School
Presentation of snacks to the Sunday School of the Wesley Cathedral (Methodist) at Cape Coast on May 9, 2021. The donation was an effort at encouraging active participation of the children in Sunday School activities

Participation in the National Tree Planting Programme on June 11, 2021
In collaboration with the Cape Coast Office of the Forest Services Department, the Foundation received about 2 000 seedlings of various plant species for distribution to the Anomabo Queenmothers Association, Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast and Mfantseman Girls School, Saltpond. The Foundation also procured some plant species for distribution to these schools.

The Foundation has embarked on a long-term programme to restore the forest cover at some historically important sites in the Anomabo Traditional Area. In line with this objective, some forest species were planted at Otsir, in an area which used to be the meeting place of Fante Chiefs in the sixteenth Century.
